VARSITY STAFF

 

Head Varsity Coach:  Jim DiGuiseppe Jr.  (16th season; 1st as Head Varsity Coach)

Coach DiGuiseppe Jr. is a graduate of Archbishop Wood High School. He earned his B.S. from Delaware Valley College and M.S. from Villanova University. Coach "Dege" was a three-year letter winner as an outfielder and pitcher at DVC. While playing for the Aggies he was awarded Most Valuable Player and First Team All-Conference. Additionally, Coach played for Lansdale in the Perkiomen Valley League. He is a former head coach for Newtown American Legion, as well as an assistant for Northampton American Legion. Coach was named the Bucks County Courier Times Co-Coach of the Year in 2009. He was a coach on the 2008, 2009 and 2010 Carpenter Cup staff. He is a Business teacher at Bucks County Technical High School, and serves as the Co-Director of the Field of Dreams Baseball Camp. Coach is married to Beth and has 2 sons; J.P. and Dominic.


Assistant Varsity Coach:  Jim DiGuiseppe Sr.  (22nd season)

Coach DiGuiseppe Sr. is a graduate of Cardinal Dougherty High School. He earned his B.S. from Temple University. 

Coach "D" is a former head coach for Archbishop Wood High School and was named the 2009 and 2010 Philadelphia Catholic League Blue Division Coach of the Year, as well as the 2009 Bucks County Courier Times Co-Coach of the Year. He was a coach on the 2008, 2009 and 2010 Carpenter Cup staff.  

He is a Health and Physical Education teacher at Neil Armstrong Middle School, and serves as the Co-Director of the Field of Dreams Baseball Camp.

Coach is married to Christine for the last 39 years and has 3 children; Jim, Jr., Andrea and Christopher.  He has 5 grandchildren; J.P., Dominic, Haley, Jackson and Audriana

 

Assistant Varsity Coach:  Bill James  (7th season)

Coach James is a graduate of Archbishop Wood High School. He earned his B.S. and M.S. from Gwynedd Mercy College. While at GMC, he worked as a graduate assistant in the student activities department. Coach "Beej" was a catcher in the Griffins program. He is currently employed by BARC and works with special needs adults as a Program Specialist. Coach is a volunteer fire fighter for Feasterville Engine 6 Station. He is single.

 

Assistant Varsity Coach:  Kevin Rosini  (4th season)

Coach Rosini is a graduate of Central Columbia High School. He earned his B.S. from Millersville University. 

Coach "Rizzo" is a former head coach for William Tennent High School. He was a coach on the 2010 Carpenter Cup staff.

Coach is a Math teacher at Archbishop Wood High School. He has 1 son; Zack.

 

Assistant Varsity Coach:  Joe Webb  (7th season)
Coach Webb is a graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School. He earned his B.A. from LaSalle University and M.A. from Neumann University. He spent the last 6 seasons as the Vikings freshmen coach. Coach Webb is a Science teacher at Archbishop Wood High School. He is single.

 

Assistant Varsity Coach:  Jason Osbeck  (1st season)
Coach Osbeck is a graduate of Council Rock High School. He earned his B.S. from the University of Delaware. Coach “Oz” was a catcher on the Blue Hens College World Series participant team. He coached with Coach DiGuiseppe Jr. while working as his assistant for Newtown American Legion. He is employed by Healthcare Services Group. Coach is married to MaryBeth and has 2 children; Elizabeth and John.

Head Athletic Trainer:  Peter Fath  (8th season)
Head AT Fath is a graduate of Great Neck South High School (New York).  He earned his B.S from the University of South Carolina and M.S. from Temple University. He was an AT for the Gamecocks prior to coming to Archbishop Wood. AT Fath was recognized by the National Athletic Trainers Association (Research Excellence Award) for his Shoulder & Elbow Kinematics during an “Overhead Throwing Motion” in Collegiate Baseball Players.

In addition to working as our Head AT, he serves as a Technician for Temple University Orthopedics.

 

 

JUNIOR VARSITY STAFF

 

Head JV Coach:  Jim Hampshire  (2nd season)

Coach Hampshire is a graduate of William Tennent High School. He earned his Associates Degree from Bucks County Community College. While playing for the Panthers he was an All-Conference recipient as an Honorable Mention. He is currently playing summer ball for Warminster in the Penndel League.  Coach is employed by Premier Real Estate in Doylestown. He is single.

 

Assistant JV Coach:  Vince Hill  (1st season)

Coach V. Hill is a graduate of William Tennent High School. He is attending Temple University. He spent the last 4 seasons coaching in the Southampton community league. Coach is single.

 

Assistant JV Coach:  Bobby Hill  (1st season)

Coach B. Hill is a graduate of Father Judge High School. He earned his B.S. from Temple University and M.S. from Holy Family University. He is a Health & Physical Education teacher at Roman Catholic High School, as well as the Assistant Recreation Leader at Chalfont Playground. Coach is married to Maria and has 3 children.

 

 


FRESHMAN STAFF


Head Freshman Coach:  Joe Ellis  (1st season)

Coach J. Ellis is a graduate of Roman Catholic High School. He is a former head coach and general manager for Northampton American Legion. Additionally, coach worked as an assistant at Archbishop Wood and Cardinal Dougherty High Schools. He is married and has 3 children.

 

Assistant Freshman Coach:  Ray Duckworth  (7th season)
Coach Duckworth is a graduate of Archbishop Wood High School. He is an assistant coach for Newtown American Legion, after having spent several years as a coach in the Northampton and Newtown community leagues. He is self-employed as a HVAC contractor. Coach has 3 children; Scott, Lauren and Sean. He has 2 grandchildren; Jake and Regan.

 

Assistant Freshman Coach:  Paul Ellis  (1st season)

Coach P. Ellis is a graduate of Archbishop Wood High School. He earned his B.S. from Villanova University. He is a former head coach for Archbishop Wood and Cardinal Dougherty High Schools. Additionally, he was a coach for the Northampton and Newtown American Legions teams. Coach is a Math teacher at Harry S. Truman High School.  Coach is married and has 4 children.
